I have just set up a used PB G4 15" 1.33GHz for a friend. The previous owner had no idea about the RAM slot issue or the Apple repair extension program, because she was not savvy enough to discover this information. I bought 2 new 512MB RAM units for this system only to discover the lower RAM slot is dead. It would be just and proper for Apple to fix this system, seeing as this is a known issue and not the fault of the customer. This is a major inconvenience and is costing thousands of us in real time, money, and inconvenience. Please acknowledge this issue and recall these systems for a full repair.

Had bioth slots with memory installed but little did I know only 1 was actually working.. Spent at least 3yrs frustratingly trying to deal with slowness, hiccups working with Ableton... I just found out NOW !

lower slot failure & i go to store in 2007. "Genius" switched card from lower slot to upper. I asked if lower slot was ok "Genius" said it was fine and needed re-seating. No problems until I try 2gb/2card upgrade and lower slot is not recognized or PB crashes. Apple never mentioned the PB slot problems or available fix. My serial number is higher than the qualified serial numbers the July 2008 fix/offer.

I am having the same problem except mine affects the upper memory slot on my Powerbook G4 1.25ghz. My computer did/does not fall in the S/N range provided by Apple. So I never thought I was involved either. It is now about 2 years since the repair program ended and I just spent money replacing the failed HD and now I have to replace two perfectly fine 512MB of Ram with one 1Gb Ram because of this problem.

Tengo el mismo problema que todos los firmantes, creo que apple debió de cambiarnos el ordenador. Me di cuenta hasta que la quería vender y !o sorpersa! revise la factura y decia 1GB de ram pero sólo leía 500mb de ram. Apple debe cambiar esos ordenadores aunque haya pasado tanto tiempo. Es una burla
